FINDING THE HORSESHOE INN, LEVISHAM

The Horseshoe Inn sits in the picturesque village of Levisham on the North York Moors, where there is so much to do and see on our doorstep.

We are only 5 miles from Dalby Forest, great for walking, cycling and horse riding. The moorland village of Goathland is nine miles to the North famed as "Aidensfield" in the popular television series "Heartbeat". The nearby Hole of Horcum has spectacular views of the North York Moors and is a favourite with walkers of all abilities.

The scenic drive across the North York Moors brings you to the historic fishing town of Whitby. Our country pub provides the ideal place to stay and visit whilst exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire for either a meal or to relax with a drink and reflect on your day.

HOW TO GET HERE

From Whitby - North

Turn off the A171 onto the A169 towards Pickering. Continue on the A169 past the ‘Hole of Horcum’ and about a mile further turn right as signposted to Lockton and Levisham. Continue through Lockton village and follow the signs for another mile to Levisham. The Horseshoe Inn is at the top of the village.

 From York - South

Turn off the A64 signposted Pickering. Continue on the A169 into Pickering and go straight over the roundabout. Continue for 4 ½ miles until you pass The Fox & Rabbit Inn on your right. Stay on the main road for another mile and take the second turn on the left as signposted to Lockton and Levisham. Continue through Lockton village and follow the signs for another mile to Levisham. The Horseshoe Inn is at the top of the village.

From Scarborough - East

Follow the A170 from Scarborough into Thornton le Dale then turn right onto Whitby Gate. Continue on this road for 3 ½ miles until you pass The Fox & Rabbit Inn on your right. Turn right onto the A169 towards Whitby and follow this road for a mile before taking the second turn on the left as signposted to Lockton and Levisham. Continue through Lockton village and follow the signs for another mile to Levisham. The Horseshoe Inn is at the top of the village.

From Helmsley - West

Follow the A170 from Helmsley into Pickering. At the roundabout take the first left onto the A169. Continue for 4 ½ miles until you pass The Fox & Rabbit Inn on your right. Stay on the main road for another mile and take the second turn on the left as signposted to Lockton and Levisham. Continue through Lockton village and follow the signs for another mile to Levisham. The Horseshoe Inn is at the top of the village.
